CTA's contribution to a project in Thiriyaai (Trincomalee) Organised by the Jaffna Uni Graduate Association (JUGA)
Thiriyai is a traditional Tamil village which is located about 42 km off north of Trincomalee town. The village consists of approximately 1000 houses and the entire population of five thousand were displaced in1987 due to the civil war.
The Thiriyai Tamil Maha Vidyalayam was closed from 1987 and re-opened in the year 2002 as resettlement slowly occurred in this area. Thiriyai Tamil Maha Vidyalayam contains about 300 students who study from year 1 to 13. Thiriyai is the gate way between North and East provinces in Sri Lanka.
JUGA has decided to run afternoon classes for year 10 and 11 students in Mathematics, Science, English and Tamil. CTA offered to help JUGA to bear the cost to cover two subjects in early 2018.
